MentorShift: The Four Step Process to Improve Leadership Development, Engagement and Knowledge Transfer. By: Lori Bachman. Mentoring is all the rage in companies these days—but it’s hard to know what to do and how to do it while running a company or a department. Lori cuts your learning curve dramatically with this how-to book and helps both mentors and mentees organize their approach and follow through. The best part is that companies will finally be able to leverage the vast knowledge that resides in the heads of their best people.

The Fred FactorFred Factor: How Passion in Your Work and Life Can Turn the Ordinary into the Extraordinary. By: Mark Sanborn. If you have not had the pleasure of reading this small, powerful book, it’s time to treat yourself. Also, you will likely order it for your entire team—be warned. Mark re-tells a true and simple story that has a profound message for anyone in any industry. His four principles have the power to transform your team.

Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead. By: Sheryl Sandberg. If you think this book is controversial, it is probably because you have not read it. When this book came out, the media really played-up the fact that Sheryl is rich and has paid help for her children which caused a great controversy. But if you read the book you will see there is no controversy about the facts about women, girls and our culture—which fill nearly a third of the book. Lean In is a leadership book and certainly a great read for anyone who can benefit from women succeeding in the world.
